Priority Program II: Education

This priority program focuses on three areas of education: academic, vocational, and professional preparation and training. Development and implementation activities are designed to be supplementary to similar programs of the public School system. The academic area of this priority program includes a focus on elementary students of grades 2 – 6 with an emphasis on African American males and other populations of underserved communities. Tutorial services will be provided after school, in small group settings that are culturally sensitive and located in local faith- based facilities.  Projected outes are focused on developing  reducing unemployment among the selected population. This program aims to engage outreach ministries in creating small businesses in economically depressed and underserved communities. Candidates will be mentored through starting up to successfully managing a small business. They must take financial literacy classes to ensure business sustainability.
